Does the sausage belong to the stuffing (or dressing)?

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – I love this 98.3 TRY social dilemma because we’ve had this chat for years with friends. Here is the email I received:

Hi Jaime,

With Thanksgiving just around the corner and knowing that this year we can get together with friends and family again, I’m planning dinner for about seven people. I’m making a stuffing recipe that has been passed down from my grandmother to my mom and now to me. And it contains sausages. Sweet sausage. And if I don’t say it myself, I think the stuffing (or the dressing as some call it) is amazing.

Well, I had a friend come over to offer me the stuffing, but I said no thanks because of this family recipe. She said she was sorry, but the sausage has no place in the stuffing. I immediately responded with all the reasons, like the flavor, the most important, but it brought me down.

She thinks more people will enjoy the stuffing without the sausage. I say not at all!

So what do you think? Does the sausage belong to the stuffing? I hope your listeners can prove that I am right.

Thank you I like ! I love christmas music.

~ Tara

It’s funny. I have this conversation with friends almost every year. The recipe I use for the stuffing also contains sweet sausage. Not a lot, but enough to scent it. And I had friends who told me I was crazy to add more. But that’s how I always knew the stuffing was, so I absolutely say yes to the sausage in the stuffing.

And you? Are you with Tara or her friends who say no? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
