ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Today’s 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma comes from Lauren and is about cleaning. Here is his email:

Hello Jaime, I wanted to get your opinion and that of your listeners on the order in which the housework is carried out. I help a neighbor clean her house every week and she likes it when I vacuum before dusting because she thinks the vacuum kicks up the dust and dusting first is useless. On the other hand, I always felt like I wanted to dust first to remove dust from the surface with the risk of dust falling on the floor for the vacuum cleaner to pass. I want to know what people usually do first – dust or vacuum? Thank you very much happy new year !

Well, I agree with Lauren on that. I never even thought of doing otherwise. I dust first, thinking exactly like Lauren that some of the dust will fall on the floor, then I vacuum, thinking I pretty much have it all. Of course, now that I’ve heard about how Lauren’s neighbor does it, I have to rethink.

What do you do when you clean your house. Dust first or vacuum first. Let’s help Lauren and let me know about the TRY the Facebook page
